Full Time – 2 positions

Clinical responsibilities will involve a broad range of medical oncology care across a number of tumour streams and Peter Mac will endeavour to address any gaps in your training. Research opportunities are available in most of the tumour streams, with the possibility of focusing on clinical trials, translational research, or supportive care. It is also possible to work towards commencing a higher research degree.

To provide high quality patient treatment and care, contribute to a research program and participate in education

  • Attendance to selected outpatient clinics and clinics in Day Ward
  • Completes all patient related documentation according to the Centre’s needs
  • Participates in after-hour and weekend cover roster for medical oncology
  • Liaises and communicates with the multidisciplinary treating team
  • Contributes to team meetings and educational activities
  • Actively and regularly participates in peer review patient related activities
  • Participates in departmental research projects and audits
  • Works effectively with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Close liaison with specialist members of the medical oncology Unit
  • Follows hospital policies and procedures

Essential qualifications

  • Medical Qualifications registerable by the Medical Board of Victoria
  • Completed at least two core years of registrar level of training in medical oncology
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team setting
  • Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with medical staff and other disciplines
  • Previous clinical trial experience an advantage
