Supervising Committee

Specialist Advisory Committee in Thoracic and Sleep Medicine (SAC).

Introduction

Thoracic medicine and sleep medicine are intimately related areas of internal medicine. Supervision of trainees wishing to gain experience in thoracic medicine, sleep medicine or both, is by the SAC in Thoracic and Sleep Medicine. Consequently, any trainee who is considering a program in thoracic or sleep medicine (or both) is advised to read these guidelines in full.

Sleep medicine is considered an integral part of thoracic medicine training and each thoracic medicine trainee must complete at least three months of core sleep medicine.
