Getting
to Hobart by Air  Hobart
is serviced by flights from all Australian capital cities, with direct Sydney-Hobart
and Melbourne-Hobart flights available daily. While there is no direct flights
from New Zealand to Hobart, flying to Melbourne will give New Zealanders the option
of getting to Hobart by plane or ferry. Discounts

Airport to Hobart City Hobart
International Airport is approximately 17kms from Hobart City. Travel time from
Hobart Airport to Hobart City is approximately 20 minutes.
Taxi
Taxi fare from the Airport to the City is approximately $A24. Most major credit
cards and cab vouchers can be used throughout Tasmania for taxi service.
Airport Shuttle service
A cheaper option is to take advantage of the airport shuttle service operated
under Tasmania's Own Redline Coaches. The shuttle service departs regularly (approx
every 20 minutes) and makes pick ups and drop offs at most major en-route hotels
in the City, including stops at the ASM conference venues: Hobart Function &
Conference Centre, Hotel Grand Chancellor and the Old Woolstore Hotel. Fare is
$8.40 per adult one way. Please allow extra time when using the airport shuttle
service due to regular stops. The trip from Hobart Airport to Hobart City usually
takes around 30-40 minutes. Car

to Hobart by Sea (via Devonport)  If
you decide to cross the Bass Strait from the mainland and have a few days set
aside we suggest you travel with the Spirit of Tasmania I and II. Both ships link
Station Pier, Port Melbourne in Victoria and East Devonport in Tasmania, sailing
overnight. Standard
schedule all year round depart Melbourne at 9.00pm and arrive the next morning
in Devonport at 7.00am.
Bringing
your car onboard - free service: Bringing your own vehicle
aboard the Spirit of Tasmania I or II at no extra cost. Conditions below:
- A standard vehicle (car,
van, 4wd) providing it is <5m long & <2m wide
- There
is a surcharge fee to bring your own vehicle during the summer peak season (Dec-Jan)

Devonport - Hobart Connection To
get from Devonport to Hobart, the best way to go is by coach, unless you plan
on bringing your own vehicle aboard the Spirit of Tasmania.
Redline
Coaches Tasmania's own Redline Coaches which operates daily services
to all major centres and surrounding suburbs. Redline Coaches will service
passengers of the Spirit I & Spirit II. Please note: it is
essential that you book your seats prior to boarding the Spirit as they fill up
