The Faculty Training Committee is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from Rehabilitation Medicine fellows to join the Committee as an Appointed Member.

Description

One of the main roles of the Faculty Training Committee is to monitor and assess individual trainee progress in Rehabilitation Medicine for Australasia.

There is currently one Fellow position vacant on the Faculty Training Committee in the role of Appointed Member. This is a great opportunity for Fellows who are willing to support current Rehabilitation Medicine Advanced Trainees and the training program. In this role, you will help shape the physicians of the future and positively contribute to the direction, workforce and culture of Rehabilitation Medicine in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

You will be involved in reviewing and monitoring of the training program requirements, assessment and curricula in consultation with the relevant Specialty Society and other stakeholders, and recommend changes to the College Education Committee via the AFRM Education Committee.

Key Responsibilities are but not limited to

  • monitor training of, and provide support to, supervisors in Rehabilitation Medicine
  • accredit Advanced Training sites or programs in Rehabilitation Medicine
  • assess recognition of prior learning
  • modify individual training requirements, as appropriate, in accordance with College policies and procedures
  • assess and provide advice on specialist recognition in Rehabilitation Medicine for Fellows who have not completed the Rehabilitation Medicine Advanced Training program 

Meetings are held four times per year with one face to face meeting (usually held in November) and up to three video conferences a year.

Members are appointed to the Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) for a three-year term and can be renewed for a further three-year term.
