Dr Sean Flint (NT) has received this fellowship to undertake studies at Cambridge University in the Nephrology unit. Funding for this Fellowship is supported by the Jacquot Bequest which was set up to support training opportunities for Australian and New Zealand Nephrologists and is jointly administered by the ANZSN and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
The Eric Susman Prize for 2009 has been awarded to Professor Ingrid Scheffer.
Professor Scheffer is an outstanding paediatric neurologist and clinician - scientist who has made a major contribution to the literature in the last two years as part of her ongoing international leadership in epilepsy research. Professor Ingrid Scheffer's work bears directly on clinical medicine and patient care. Professor Scheffer is a clinical researcher and has been recognised as such by being awarded an inaugural NH&MRC Practitioner Fellowship and more recently, the Clinical Research Recognition Award of the American Epilepsy Society in 2007. Professor Ingrid Scheffer was nominated by Professor James Best.
