Purpose: To further research in internal medicine or paediatrics. Funding to be used to:
• Provide stipend support;
• other support such as laboratory set-up costs; OR
• a short term Research Assistant appointment
Value: Up to $20,000
Eligibility: Australian and New Zealand Fellows and advanced trainees of the RACP, its Divisions, Faculties and Chapters
• less than seven years from the award of their research higher degree; OR
• less than two years after return from a minimum one year overseas
Tenable: Australia, New Zealand or overseas.
The Fellowship is made available by a grant from AstraZeneca Pty Ltd, matched with funds provided by the RACP.
Purpose: For research or training in the areas of epidemiology, social or community medicine; or for research or training relating to areas of special relevance to the Asia Pacific area. Funding to be used to:
• Provide stipend support;
• other support such as laboratory set-up costs; OR
• a short term Research Assistant appointment.
Value: Up to $60,000 (award will be pro rata for part time)
Eligibility: Australia and New Zealand Fellows and advanced trainees of the RACP, its Divisions, Faculties and Chapters

Special requirement: Applicants should highlight the relevance of the project to epidemiology, social or community medicine, or the Asia Pacific region.

Purpose: To promote clinical and basic research into the causes, prevention and treatment of diabetes. Funding to be used to:
• Provide stipend support;
• other support such as laboratory set-up costs; OR
• a short term Research Assistant appointment.
Value: up to $50,000
Eligibility: Australia and New Zealand Fellows and advanced trainees of the RACP, its Divisions, Faculties and Chapters:
• less than seven years from the award of their research higher degree; OR
• less than two years after return from a minimum one year overseas .

The Fellowship is made available by a donation from Diabetes Australia Research Trust which is matched by a contribution from the RACP.
Purpose: To further research in the area of diseases associated with ageing, and to promote leadership and community spirit within the profession and the community. Funding to be used to:
• Provide stipend support;
• other support such as laboratory set-up costs; OR
• a short term Research Assistant appointment.
Value: Up to $60,000
Eligibility: Australia and New Zealand Fellows or advanced trainees of the RACP, its Divisions, Faculties and Chapters.

Special requirements: Applicants for this Fellowship should seek confidential reports from two referees on the applicant's character, community involvement and leadership qualities. In addition to academic merit, applicants will be expected to have demonstrated community involvement, integrity of character and leadership qualities within the community and/or the profession. Applicants should include a brief outline of their leadership in the profession and the community.
The Fellowship is made available by a grant from the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation, matched with funds provided by the RACP.
Purpose: The intent of the scholarship is to provide stipend support to encourage and support the promotion of research in any medical specialty areas represented by the RACP, its Divisions, Faculties and Chapters. Funding to be used to:
• Provide stipend support;
• other support such as laboratory set-up costs; OR
• a short term Research Assistant appointment

The Scholarship is made available by donations from the Fellows of the RACP 2012.
Purpose: To further research in the fields of blood pressure, hypertension and associated cardiovascular diseases. The research may be either basic or clinical but preference will be given to research relevant to new clinical developments. Funding is provided to:
• primarily provide stipend support;

The Fellowship is made available by a grant from the then Foundation for High Blood Pressure Research, matched with funds provided by Fellows of the RACP.
Purpose: To further medical research in oncology. Funding may be used to:

The Fellowship is made available by a grant from GlaxoSmithKline Australia, matched with funds provided by Fellows of the RACP.
Purpose: To improve knowledge on:
• medical conditions that cause or contribute to Road traffic crashes (RTC)
• injuries arising from RTCs
• medical treatments or approaches that improve health or other outcomes for people involved in RTCs
This award may be used as stipend and/or other support, such as assistance with statistical analysis.

Reporting requirements: MAIC requires a final report that outlines how the outcome of the research contributes towards lessening the risk of RTC injuries, and/or improving the outcomes of people injured in RTCs.
This Fellowship is made available by a grant from the Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC), the regulator of the compulsory third party motor accident insurance scheme in Queensland. MAIC funds research activities that support the prevention of road traffic crash (RTC) injuries or lead to improvements in the management and rehabilitation of those injured on the road.
Purpose: To further research in neurology, with a preference for research relating to the aetiology and/or management of brain tumours. Funding to be used to:
• Provide stipend support;
• other support such as laboratory set-up costs; OR
• a short term Research Assistant appointment
Value: Up to $50,000 and Up to $2,000 to support travel to a local or overseas research meeting to present a paper

This award is jointly funded by the Greenfield and Kaplan families and the RACP. The travel grant is funded by the Malki Family and the RACP.
Purpose: To promote clinical and basic research into Type I diabetes. The following areas of research are encouraged, with particular relevance to children and adolescents:
• prevention of the disease and its recurrence,
• restoration of normal metabolism,
• avoidance and reversal of complications (such as hypoglycaemia, kidney failure, heart disease, nerve damage and loss of vision).
Funding to be used to:
• provide stipend support;
• other support such as laboratory set-up costs; or
• a short term Research Assistant appointment.
