Early Medicine Catalogue

A Catalogue of Books (chiefly medical) printed before 1801, is now available in the History of Medicine Library, The Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

This publication has been a collaborative project between the History of Medicine Library, RACP, and the Centre for the Book, Monash University. It shows the Library as a unique Australian asset, and serves to open the collection to a wider audience.

Compiled by Peter Dobrovits, the catalogue lists over 400 items held in the library's collection published prior to 1801, and is a valuable resource for those interested in the history of health sciences.

Bibliographic and institutional material is recorded for each item, where applicable, tracing the provenance of the material. References are made to listings in 13 other bibliographies, creating a complete picture of the significance of these items in the medico-historical and bibliographic field.
