Guidelines for Advanced Training in PaediatricsCommittees which Oversee Advanced TrainingThe RACP oversees and assesses Advanced Training in paediatrics through the Board of Paediatric Censors (BPC) and Committee for Paediatric Physician Training (CPPT). These training committees receive advice from the Specialist Advisory Committees/ and Joint Specialist Advisory Committees (SACs/JSACs) and your Advanced Training supervisors. The CPPT establishes, in accordance with the RACP policy, the broad requirements for paediatric training. It receives recommendations from the SACs/JSACs or other specialty Training Committees with regard to requirements for vocational training. The CPPT and the SACs/JSACs develop Advanced Training programs by providing the requirements and standards expected for vocational training. At the beginning of each year the relevant training committee assesses and, if satisfactory, prospectively approves your training programs. During your Conditional Advanced Training year (the year you are completing the Examination), your training will be overseen by the CPPT. Once you have successfully completed the Examination and entered Advanced Training, your training will be overseen either by the CPPT or by the SAC/JSAC of the subspecialty you have chosen. At the end of each year, the relevant training committee receives and considers supervisors' reports and project reports and, if satisfied with your progress, accredits the year of training. In addition, the relevant training committee will seek feedback from you about your Advanced Training. [ TOP ]
