  • puberty and pubertal disorders - precocious puberty, pubertal delay, intersex and ambiguous genitalia
  • adrenal physiology and pathophysiology
  • ovarian and testicular physiology and pathophysiology
  • thyroid physiology and pathophysiology
  • parathyroid physiology and pathophysiology
  • calcium metabolism

Skills

  • history and physical examination
  • measurement of blood glucose
  • assessment of puberty
  • accurate weight and height measurements, body mass index, assessment of growth velocity
  • orchidometry
  • interpretation of hormone levels and endocrine function tests
  • management of adrenal crises, diabetic ketoacidosis and hypoglycaemia
    approach to long term management of common endocrinological disorders.
