Guide to Basic Training

Entry into Basic Training

Entry to paediatric training is by gaining a training position in an accredited institution or program. Requirements prior to entry to paediatric training vary from State to State. In some States you can apply for a training program position after completion of the first post-graduate year, also known as the intern or pre-registration year. However, in other States completion of the first and second postgraduate years are required before you can apply for a paediatric training position.
