  • respiratory embryology, anatomy and physiology
  • asthma
  • bronchiolitis
  • cystic fibrosis
  • pneumonia
  • congenital lung abnormalities
  • chronic lung disease of the newborn
  • sleep physiology and disturbance
  • obstructive sleep apnoea
  • central apnoea.

Skills

  • history and physical examinationperformance and interpretation of lung function tests
  • assessment of oximetry measurement
  • demonstrate the use of inhaler devices and peak flow meters
  • interpretation of chest imaging (Xray, CT scan, nuclear scan).
