Post-FRACP Training

If you have completed FRACP training with some of your Advanced Training in other areas of paediatrics, your core training may not have fulfilled the three year requirement specified above. You will be expected to complete the Paediatric Cardiology training post-FRACP.

After completion of a period of three years Advanced Training as indicated above, it is advisable that you have a further period of training of variable duration (1 - 2 years or sometimes longer), which may involve a period of dedicated research leading to a higher degree (eg MD, PhD), and/or a period of training overseas. This supplementary training may also involve additional training in a special area such as electrophysiology, fetal echocardiography, etc.
