Specialist Advisory Committee (SAC) in Medical Oncology

Definition of the Specialty

The Paediatric Haematologist/Oncologist is a paediatrician with specialised skills in the clinical management of solid tumours, malignant haematological disease and non malignant haematological disease and with bone marrow transplantation in children and adolescents.

General Principles

  1. Advanced Training in Paediatric Clinical Haematology and Oncology will be supervised by the SAC in Medical Oncology , which will report to the CPPT.
  2. Advanced Training in Paediatric Clinical Haematology and Oncology will be for at least three years following satisfactory completion of Basic Paediatric Training and the FRACP Examination in paediatrics.
  3. Mandatory requirements must be completed.
