Elective Training

You can undertake a maximum of twelve months elective training. This period may be used to gain further clinical or laboratory experience in related specialties or to undertake a period of research in a field of direct relevance to paediatric haematology and oncology. For example this year could constitute one year of full-time research towards an MD of PhD.

Posts

Programs will be approved for training in recognised specialised paediatric haematology/oncology units. At least one year of core training should be undertaken in a unit with an active bone marrow transplantation program. It is recognised that some of you will seek to undertake part of our training outside Australia. In general, you are not encouraged to undertake all three years training in the one unit.
