Definition
of Specialty
Neurology encompasses
the science, investigation and treatment of all inherited and acquired
diseases affecting the nervous and neuromuscular systems.
General
Principles
- Advanced Training in paediatric neurology will be supervised by
the SAC in Neurology with major responsibility undertaken by the paediatric
representatives (paediatric neurologist appointed by the BPC and a
CPPT representative).
- Advanced Training in paediatric neurology will be at least three
years following satisfactory completion of basic paediatric training
and the FRACP Examination in paediatrics.
- It is recommended that some time is spent in overseas training at
a major Child Neurology centre.
- Mandatory requirements must be
completed
