There are two pathways of entry to the one program of Advanced Training in Palliative Medicine under the supervision of the Palliative Medicine Education Committee (PMEC) of the RACP. The specialist qualification that is awarded depends on the pathway of entry.

Trainees who have completed the basic physician training or paediatric training programs of the RACP are eligible to enter the advanced training program in palliative medicine. The second mode of entry to Advanced Training is for Fellows from another clinical college or subspecialty field of the RACP. Trainees who enter via this pathway and complete the training program are awarded Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine. Please refer to the Training Program Handbook for more information.
