The PREP Basic Training Portal (BTP) is a virtual learning environment (VLE) accessed through the RACP website. It is designed to support the PREP Basic Training Program by providing trainees and supervisors with a repository for resources and online tools to support learning and development.
There are two ways to sign in and access the portal:
Option 1 - "Launch Portal Now" Button
- Click on the "Launch Portal Now" button, located on the right hand side of the home page;
A RACP Online Login page will be displayed;- Type in your Member Identification Number (MIN) or email address in the User ID text field;
- Type in your password in the Password text field;
(You will have received your MIN by email if you are registered with the RACP)- Once you have logged in, you will be able to access the portal, including all tools, until you close your browser.
Option 2 - "Sign in now" link
- Click the "Sign in now" link located at the bottom left of the main image BTP site;
A RACP Online Login page will be displayed;- Type in your Member Identification Number (MIN) or email address in the User ID text field;
- Type in your password in the Password text field;
(You will have received your MIN by email if you are registered with the RACP)- Once you are logged in, you can access the portal by clicking on the "Launch Portal Now" button, located on the right hand side of the home page.
Logins are provided to Trainees, Supervisors and Fellows of the College after registration. More information on registering with the College can be found on the About PREP>Getting started page of BTP site, or under PREP Basic Training>Application from the main RACP website.
- Click on the ‘Don't have a password?’ link from the login page (see how do I login?);
- A Retrieve Login Details page will be displayed;
- Type in your email address in the Primary Email text field;
- Click on the submit button.
If your email address has changed recently, or you do not receive an email shortly, please contact the College at racp@racp.edu.au or phone (+61) (02) 9256 5444 to check that your primary email address is correct. Primary email is the email address supplied to the College by you. You opted to receive all your correspondence from the College on this email address.
Users need to sign into the Portal (see how do I login? for more information) to access the available tools.
The tools that are currently active and accessible are:
- Learning Needs Analysis
- Professional Qualities Reflection
- Mini-CEX tool
- Progress Reports
Mini-CEX assessor resources are accessed by clicking on the "Mini-CEX Assessor Resource" button in the Mini-CEX page of the portal. It has been designed as a teaching and learning resource to support supervisors in utilising the Mini-CEX effectively.
This resource can only be accessed by members of the College.
The information listed in the Hospital / Location drop-down box is based on the information the trainee provided the RACP during registration.
If this is not correct, the trainee needs to download the ‘Annual Application form' available on the members website>training & exams>annual application (form will differ according to whether you are in Australia or New Zealand and whether you are training in Adult medicine or Paediatrics).
Once the changes have been made on the form, signed by the relevant authority (DPE etc), the information will be updated on the Mini-CEX once the form has been processed.
