NZ Minimum Requirements

Important note: although the College sets minimum requirements  for completing the formative assessments during the year, it is highly recommended that additional requirements around the Learning Needs Analysis, mini-CEX and Professional Qualities Reflection be completed in order to improve your learning.

NZ min req 2011

1 LNA - Ideally one LNA should be completed at the beginning of each substantive term
2 PQR - where required, ideally one PQR completed every 6 months
3 mini-CEX - Ideally one mini-CEX completed per term
4 Progress Report - This will be informed by the WSC Reports at the end of each training rotation

Pro-rata Assessments
If you are only training for part of the year and interrupting for the rest of the year you only need to complete a pro-rata number of assessments. Pro rata assessments do not apply for part time trainees however.

For example – in 2011, an Adult Medicine trainee training for 6 months (i.e. 2 quarters) and on extended leave/interrupting for the remaining 6 months only needs to complete half of the above minimum requirements, i.e. 1 LNA, 2 mini-CEXs, 1 PQR and the Annual Progress Report.
Part-time trainees who are training for the full year, are required to do the same number of assessments and tools outlined in the minimum requirements table above, irrespective of full-time equivalency. This is to promote engagement with supervisors and encourage immersion in the program.

Completion of Assessments
Ensure you undertake these assessments during 2011 as it is compulsory for all PREP trainees. Eligibility for the examination will be affected if these assessments are not completed.  Accreditation of training rotations may also be affected.
