Community of Learning in Medical Education (online)

The Education Deanery has developed an online community designed to equip and support our Fellows interested in Medical Education.

There will be a series of monthly topics, with information, readings and a set of stem questions to which the community is invited to participate and contribute.

The first topic for 2010 is Reflective Practice. Other topics will include:

  • Trainees in Difficulty
  • Effectiveness of CPD
  • What makes rural settings unique
  • Planning learning

The College is offering a suite of workshops:

  • Dean's Welcome Meetings;
  • PREP workshops, run by the Medical Education Officers;
  • Advanced Training workshops at Specialty ASMs;
  • Medical Education workshops at WCIM.

The Physician Educator Program Online provides a suite of resources to support Fellows involved in the education, supervision, training and assessment of trainees.

Becoming a Supervisor

Please note that at present, all supervisors are provisionally accredited without attending a workshop.

To become a PREP Basic Physician Training Supervisor, please fill in the attached form and email to basic_training@racp.edu.au. Alternatively, your trainee(s) will nominate you as their supervisor (either Educational Supervisor or Professional Development Advisor) as part of their annual application for approval of basic training to the College.

To become a Supervisor of Advanced Trainees, your trainee(s) will need to nominate you as their supervisor as part of their annual application for approval of training to the College. You will be asked to formulate/agree to a learning plan with your trainee as part of the application process and agree to and sign the Statement of Training Responsibilities.
