Qualifications: MB ChB BAO Belf (1928) MD Belf (1937) MRACP (1940)
Born at Armagh, Moses Jeffers studied medicine at Queen’s University, Belfast and on qualifying in 1928 held house posts in Birmingham. He then worked as a medical officer at the Birmingham General Dispensary for about seven years. During the period 1934 to 1936 he attended part-time postgraduate activities at Queen’s Hospital and West Bromwich Hospital, followed by a year full-time at the British Postgraduate Medical School, London. He obtained the MD at this time, and came to New South Wales in 1938.
When he passed the Membership examination in April 1940 he was in general practice at Merewether, Newcastle. A little later he moved to Sydney. He established a practice at Kings Cross, moving later to Edgecliff. He also practised at 175 Macquarie Street, with an attachment to Sydney Hospital as a clinical assistant.
