Joining the Training Program


What are the Training Requirements?

Please see the relevant version of the guidelines which are available from the Training Requirements page.

Registration as a Basic Trainee

  1. If you are registering with the College's Training Program for the first time, use the online registration form to apply.  You can access the online form and information about eligibility criteria here.
    Australian Based Trainees - If you commenced basic physician training from 1 January 2008, you will be in the PREP program.
    New Zealand Based Trainees - If you registered in your PGY2 in 2008 you were enrolled in the PREP Program. If you register in 2009, you will be under the PREP Program (registration applies to trainees registering from October 2008). Please see Progression for PREP Trainees for further information.

  2. If you are already a registered trainee, you can renew your annual registration online (Trainees in Australia only - click here and choose the re-register option) or download an application form from here*.
    *You will need to enter your username and password for the members' section of the website to access the application forms.

Trainees are responsible for maintaining their annual registration with the College. Australian trainees only must renew their annual registration by 15 February each year.
