(Please click to view in full size) | | WorkSafe Victoria Annual RTW CampaignThe Faculty and the Communications team are currently working with WorkSafe Victoria, Transport Accident Commission, The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and GPV. WorkSafe Victoria approached AFOEM to include AFOEM's Consensus Statement on the Health Benefits of Work in their annual Return to Work campaign. Deborah Lockart travelled to Melbourne last week to progress this significant body of work, in promoting the Consensus Statement on the Health Benefits of Work. The campaign is a great opportunity for the Faculty to extend our coverage and also connect with GPs. Michael Klim is working with WorkSafe Victoria in promoting the health benefits of work. I attended the media launch last week. | | Return to Work Awards AFOEM nominatedIn recent weeks, the Faculty has been nominated for this year's ‘Return to Work (RTW) Awards'. The Awards are run by independent statutory body Q-Comp, and are designed to recognise outstanding achievements in returning employees to work. The nomination was initiated by work undertaken in Queensland by AFOEM Council Member Gavin Ballenden. Along with other occupational physicians, Gavin played a key role in a program targeting GPs, which actively promoted the health benefits of returning injured workers to employment sooner. Gavin, thank you. We hope we win! |
