Research and Education Foundation

As the philanthropic arm of the RACP, the RACP Research and Education Foundation works to support our young talented physicians and trainees in the critical, early stages of their career in medical research and education. The Research and Education Foundation was established in 1991 to raise funds for The Royal Australasian College of Physicians' Medical Research Awards Scheme. Since its establishment the Foundation has attracted generous support from a broad section of the community. Strong support from the College Fellowship has also allowed the Foundation to attract crucial donations from private and corporate donors.

Foundation Awards

The Fellowships and scholarships provided by the Research and Education Foundation are available only to Fellows and Advanced Trainees of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians and its Faculties and Chapters.

The majority of awards are designed for Fellows or Advanced Trainees at an early stage of their careers and strong preference will be given to these applicants. Several awards are, however, available to more established researchers.

There are over 40 Fellowships available within the following categories, although not all are offered each year:

• Research Entry Scholarships
• Post Higher Degree Awards
• The Jacquot Awards
• Rural & Remote Practitioners Awards (PAULSON IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE)
• Faculty, Chapter and Specialty Society Awards
• New Zealand Awards
• Eric Susman Prize
