RACP Foundation

As the philanthropic arm of the RACP, the RACP Foundation works to support our young talented physicians and trainees in the critical, early stages of their career in medical research and education. The RACP Foundation was established in 1991 to raise funds for The Royal Australasian College of Physicians' Medical Research Awards Scheme. Since its establishment the Foundation has attracted generous support from a broad section of the community. Strong support from the College Fellowship has also allowed the Foundation to attract crucial donations from private and corporate donors.

Foundation Awards

The Fellowships and Scholarships provided by the RACP Foundation are available only to Fellows and Advanced Trainees of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians, its Divisions, Faculties and Chapters.

The majority of awards are designed for Fellows or Advanced Trainees at an early stage of their careers and strong preference will be given to these applicants. Several awards are, however, available to more established researchers.

There are over 60 awards available within the following categories, although not all are offered each year:

  • Research Entry Scholarships
  • Post Higher Degree Awards
  • The Jacquot Awards
  • Travelling Fellowships
  • Study Grants and Fellowships
  • Open Fellowships
  • Faculty, Chapter and Specialty Society Awards
  • New Zealand Awards
  • Eric Susman Prize
  • RACP Neil Hamilton Fairly Medal
