Introduction
Respiratory medicine and sleep medicine are closely related areas of internal medicine. Supervision of trainees wishing to gain experience in respiratory medicine, sleep medicine, or both, is by the SAC in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine. Consequently, any trainee who is considering a program in respiratory or sleep medicine, or both, is advised to read these guidelines in full. Each respiratory medicine trainee must complete at least 3 months of core sleep medicine.
