General Information
Training in Conjunction with Faculties and Chapters
Trainees are encouraged to consider training which might lead to Fellowship of the College, a Faculty and/or a Chapter. Training in some subspecialties of adult internal medicine may be suitable for recognition towards training in one of the faculties, particularly public health medicine and rehabilitation medicine. Conversely, some parts of a faculty training program may be recognised towards College Fellowship.

Trainees considering such a possibility should, in the first instance, raise the matter with the College Head of the Department of Training and Assessment who will facilitate liaison with the Chairs of the relevant BOCs and/or the CAT of the relevant SAC.

Training in Conjunction with The Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine
Training in public health medicine is undertaken under the supervision of the AFPHM. This training can be done entirely with the Faculty and leads to the qualification FAFPHM (see training handbook of the Faculty). Those who wish to become Fellows of the College and of the Faculty will be required to satisfactorily complete basic physician training and the FRACP Examination before enrolling in the Faculty training program. A committee consisting of the Faculty BOC and a member of the CPT of the College will supervise training. Award of FRACP will be dependent on satisfactory completion of advanced training and completion of the training requirements of the Faculty.
