Dr Alexander Strathmore | 2022 recipient

Dr Alexander Strathmore is currently a Rheumatology Advanced Trainee working in Victoria. He graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Biomedicine before completing his Doctor of Medicine. He subsequently completed his Basic Physician Training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He is interested in clinical education and supporting the development of medical students and junior doctors. He would like to thank his study group, family and clinical supervisors for their support throughout the exam period.

Dr Andy Wallace | 2022 recipient

Dr Andrew (Andy) Wallace completed his MD and MPH at the University of Sydney, and his basic training through the Children's Hospital at Westmead network. He has just returned from a 6-month mission with Medecins Sans Frontieres working in Bangladesh and plans to pursue paediatric infectious disease training with a career focus on global health inequity. Andy would like to thank all those involved in teaching and exam preparation and aspires to pass on the benefits of this education to as many patients and junior colleagues as possible.

Dr Jessica Johnson | 2022 recipient

Dr Jessica Johnson is an advanced trainee in Occupational and Environmental Medicine. She works in occupational medicine consultancy at Baseline Onsite in Western Australia.

She graduated from the University of a Western Australia in 2003 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, with Honours. She was awarded fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2015. She obtained her Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from Curtin University in 2022. She has served as the ANZSOM WA branch registrar representative, and with the support of ANZSOM is currently undertaking a research project on the history of the development of the specialty of OEM in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

Jessica is committed to promoting the health and safety of workers while providing industry clients with high quality, efficient, collaborative and compassionate medical leadership in the occupational health field.

Dr Rehana Di Rico | 2022 recipient

Dr Rehana Di Rico is a dual specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine and Public Health Medicine. She graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Medicine, Surgery and Medical Science with Distinction before completing her Master of Philosophy in Public Health from the University of Cambridge. Rehana’s clinical training in the rehabilitation of patients following traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries fuelled her passion for preventative health care.

She commenced dual public health training with the Burnet Institute to reduce harms from health risk behaviours, then enjoyed an array of public health roles at Epworth Hospital and the Victorian Department of Health. She currently works in environmental health to improve paediatric asthma management in settings with poor air quality. Clinically, she runs a successful private practice in orthopaedic rehabilitation and holds leadership and clinical governance positions at Epworth Hospital. Rehana enjoys teaching junior doctors and holds research fellowships with Epworth Monash Rehabilitation Unit and Burnet Institute. She credits her exam success to support from her colleagues, supervisors, study group and family.

Dr Nathaniel Chandra | 2022 recipient

Dr Nathaniel Chandra is a final year Advanced Trainee in Rehabilitation Medicine undertaking training at various tertiary hospitals in Queensland. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland, a Doctor of Medicine from Griffith University and is currently completing a Master in Internal Medicine from the University of Sydney.

Nathaniel has a passion for innovation in health and a special interest in preventative medicine. He hopes that his career in medicine and related fields can contribute to addressing areas of need in our community and advancements in sustainable and equitable healthcare.
