Deane Southgate Award

The Deane Southgate Award is awarded to the Trainee with the highest aggregate mark for the Written and Practical examinations. The trainee must undertake both the Stage B written and Stage B Practical examinations in the same year. A plaque is presented to the recipient at the RACP Congress.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for this award, candidates must have successfully completed both the AFOEM Stage B Written and Practical Examinations. 

What is the prize?

The prize is the Deane Southgate plaque,​ presented at the RACP Convocation and Ceremony in the following year. 

How is the recipient selected?

  1. Members of the Faculty Assessment Committee will review examination results.
  2. The Committee will select the candidate with the highest aggregate score, after equally averaging the scores from the AFOEM Stage B Written and Practical Examinations.
  3. RACP Foundation will notify the recipient that they have received the award.

Applications are not required for this prize.
