The Advanced Training Committee (ATC) seeks Medical Oncology Fellows to apply, with a preference for a Victorian Committee member.

Description

The Committee oversees Advanced Training in Medical Oncology in Australia. The ATC's key responsibilities are to:

  • monitor and assess individual trainee progress in Medical Oncology
  • confirm completion of training requirements for progression to Fellowship
  • monitor training of, and provide support to, supervisors in Medical Oncology
  • accredit Advanced Training sites or programs in Medical Oncology
  • assess recognition of prior learning
  • monitor and review training program requirements, assessment and curricula in Medical Oncology
  • provide advice on specialty specific CPD and other educational resources for members

Desirable attributes for the role:

  • Accreditation experience
  • A current advanced trainee supervisor
  • Completion of at least one SPDP workshop

Fellows who reside in Victoria may be given preference.

Members are appointed to the Committee for a term of 2 years with the option to renew for a further 2 terms.

The Committee holds 2 face-to-face meetings in Sydney and 2 teleconference per year.
