The Medical Advisory Panel (MAP) is seeking an Australasian Faculty of Occupational & Environmental Medicine (AFOEM) Representative.

Description

MAP comprises medical practitioners who provide expert advice to the WorkCover Board Tasmania. The representative should have experience in injury management and return to work processes for workers who have suffered an injury or illness arising out of, or in the course of their employment.

MAP provide advice to the Committee on developments, knowledge and experience within the medical/health care profession to assist with improving workers’ compensation arrangements in Tasmania. The promotion and support of injury management and the encouragement of the return to work of injured workers as soon as possible.

MAP meetings
  • MAP meets at least twice per year, with additional meetings held as and when determined necessary by the Chair of the Panel. 4 to 6 times per year, with most meetings held online
  • Members are provided with a draft copy of agendas in advance of meetings for feedback
  • papers, agenda, and previous meeting minutes are provided a week prior to the meetings

The AFOEM Representative will be appointed for 12 months, or for another period decided by the Committee. The role is remunerated
