The Advanced Training Committee (ATC) in Endocrinology is seeking expressions of interest from Endocrinology Fellows who wish to join the ATC as an Appointed Member.

Description

There is currently one Fellow position vacant on the Training Committee in the role of Appointed Member. Applicants from NT or WA are preferred, however, Fellows from all states are welcome to apply. This is a great opportunity for Fellows who are willing to support current Endocrinology Advanced Trainees and the training program.

In this role, you will help shape the physicians of the future and positively contribute to the direction, workforce and culture of Endocrinology in Australia.

The ATC oversees Advanced Training in Endocrinology with key responsibilities to:

  • monitor and assess individual trainee progress in Endocrinology
  • confirm completion of training requirements to progress to Fellowship
  • monitor training of, and provide support to, supervisors in Endocrinology
  • accredit Advanced Training sites or programs in Endocrinology
  • assess recognition of prior learning
  • monitor and review training program requirements, assessment and curricula in Endocrinology in consultation with the relevant Specialty Society(ies) and other stakeholders, and recommend changes to the College Education Committee, via the Adult Medicine Division Education Committee
  • advise on assessment and resource content
  • advise on matters relating to Overseas Trained Physicians, as requested
  • provide advice on specialty specific CPD and other educational resources for members, as appropriate
  • modify individual training requirements, as appropriate, in accordance with College policies and procedures
  • assess and provide advice on specialist recognition in Endocrinology for Fellows in the Paediatric and Child Health Division or the Adult Medicine Division who have not completed the Endocrinology Advanced Training program. 

Members are appointed for an initial 3-year term, with the option to renew for a further term.

Meetings are held twice per year, with one face to face meeting which is usually held in November.
