The Advanced Training Committee is seeking expressions of interest from 1 Clinical Pharmacology Fellow to join the Committee as Deputy Chair.

Description

One of the main roles of the Advanced Training Committee is to monitor and assess individual trainee progress in Clinical Pharmacology for Australasia.

This is a great opportunity for Fellows who are willing to support current Clinical Pharmacology Advanced Trainees and the training program.

About the role

  • help shape the physicians of the future and positively contribute to the direction, workforce, and culture of Clinical Pharmacology in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand
  • be involved in reviewing and monitoring the training program requirements, assessment, and curricula in consultation with the relevant Specialty Societies and other stakeholders
  • recommend changes to the College Education Committee, via the Adult Medicine Division Education Committee and Paediatrics Division Education Committee

Key Responsibilities

  • monitor and assess individual trainee progress in Clinical Pharmacology
  • confirm completion of training requirements to progress to Fellowship
  • monitor training of, and provide support to, supervisors in Clinical Pharmacology
  • accredit Advanced Training sites or programs in Clinical Pharmacology
  • assess recognition of prior learning
  • advise on assessment and resource content
  • advise on matters relating to Overseas Trained Physicians, as requested
  • provide advice on specialty specific CPD and other educational resources for members, as appropriate
  • modify individual training requirements, as appropriate, in accordance with College policies or procedures
  • assess and provide advice on specialist recognition in Clinical Pharmacology for Fellows in the Paediatric and Child Health Division or the Adult Medicine Division who have not completed the Clinical Pharmacology Advanced Training program

Meetings are held twice per year with 1 face-to-face meeting, which is usually held in November.

Members are appointed to the Advanced Training Committee for a 3-year term and can be renewed for a further term.
