Indigenous cardiovascular health modules
The RACP and the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSANZ) have developed three modules on cardiovascular disease and healthcare in rural and remote Indigenous communities.
These modules provide continuing professional development for health professionals engaged in the delivery of cardiovascular health care for Indigenous Australians through web-based, interactive modules. The modules are primarily targeted at specialist physicians and trainees but are available to all health professionals.
The modules cover:
1. Cardiovascular Disease (2 hours)
2. Rheumatic Heart Disease (2 hours)
3. Overcoming Barriers and Providing Effective Care (2 hours)
Participation in these activities can be claimed in the MyCPD program under Category 3: Self Assessment Programs at 2 credits per hour.
This Project has been funded by the Department of Health and Ageing under the Rural Health Continuing Education Sub-program (RHCE) Stream One which is managed by the Committee of Presidents of Medical Colleges.
