The Medical Indemnity Protection Society (MIPS) has assembled a panel of experts to explain the sequence of events following the death of a patient. Through a series of informative panel discussions and audio vignettes, the webinar will highlight important stages of the coronial process.

Understand risk management from a practice perspective, how a review of a coroner’s findings and recommendations are studied, the potential for civil proceedings and coroner referral to AHPRA.

Learning outcomes:

  • understand the reportable death requirements to the Coroner
  • list the purpose, processes and procedures of the coroner’s court
  • implement strategies to minimise clinico-legal and regulatory exposure concerning a patient’s death
