Important regional training and practice surveys

As part of a long-standing association between the College and the University of Queensland, we have begun a new project examining factors which influence decisions by College members to work in regional and rural areas of Australia – as well as the factors which drive decisions to remain in those areas.

One component of the project is a survey of Australian Fellows and trainees.  The project has been funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health. It has Research Ethics approval through the University of Queensland Institutional Human Research Ethics Committee.

This information flyer describes how to participate in the surveys specific to your career stage. All responses will be de-identified and participants will be able to elect to enter a draw to select seven trainees and three Fellows who will receive complimentary registration and additional funding to attend RACP Congress 2019 or 2020.

We are seeking the participation of any trainee or Fellow – irrespective of whether they have worked in regional or rural settings – in the hope that responses will help identify challenges and barriers as well as opportunities.

The surveys are open now. Your participation would be greatly valued. The outcomes of the work will help inform regional training initiatives within the College, as well as those supported by Governments at both Commonwealth and State levels.

The surveys close on Friday, 16 November.
