Podcasts look at Rebooting CPD

Date published:

In Part 1 we discuss regulatory changes on the near horizon.
The Medical Board of CPD story pic Australia is emulating shifts already made by the Medical Council of New Zealand and regulators in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. In some cases, this ‘revalidation’ movement has been resisted by doctors. But where did it come from, and why is CPD even necessary after you’ve already done 10 to 15 years of medical training?

In Part 2, we’ll examine the RACP’s new MyCPD framework, to be implemented in 2019. This will encourage Fellows to participate outcome measurement like clinical audit, and performance review. Multi-source feedback is one sophisticated example of review that has been trialled by the RACP. Two New Zealand Fellows will discuss what they’ve learned about this ‘strengthened CPD’ approach since it was nationally implemented there four years ago.
