RACP submission to the Primary Health Reform Steering Group Discussion Paper

Date published:

The RACP provided significant feedback to the Primary Health Reform Steering Group’s Discussion Paper, which pre-empts recommendations to the Australian Government on the forthcoming Primary Health Care 10 Year Plan. Central to the Discussion Paper is Voluntary Patient Registration (VPR). To support integrated care and comprehensive approaches to primary healthcare, the College suggests the VPR be extended to physicians and paediatricians, where appropriate. Other feedback proposes more comprehensive and stronger recommendations on rural health, increasing health literacy, climate change and health, intellectual disability, preventive health, occupational health, oral health care, palliative and rehabilitation care and transitions from children’s to adult services.
