Special Consideration for Assessment Policy

The Special Consideration for Assessment Policy sets out the process of considering the particular circumstances affecting a trainee and the special provisions or arrangements available, to alleviate the impact of those circumstances.

To streamline and align with RACP education policies the Special Consideration for Assessment Policy has been revised.

A Policy Review Working Group consisting of Fellows and Trainees updated the policy following feedback.

Broadened policy scope

The policy has been revised to include work-based assessments, in addition to RACP examinations.
 clarifying icon Clarifying possible outcomes of application The policy separates outcomes for pre-examination and post-examination provisions, and includes an updated Outcome Summary Table for ease of use.
 Increased Transparency Icon Increased transparency and accessibility The separation of policy and procedural content enables a clear policy and more streamlined process.

Implementation

The proposed changes have been identified as low impact, with a recommended communication period of less than six months prior to implementation.
