Value Proposition and Faculty Narrative
The AFRM Value Proposition and Faculty Narrative – Marketing and Communications Toolkit with key AFRM policy documents will be distributed to peak identified bodies to promote the speciality.
Faculty Policy and Advocacy Committee (FPAC) Activities
The FPAC continue to review existing Rehabilitation-related policies and position statements on RACP website. Expressions of interest are currently open for the review of Guiding principles for the management of patients with multi-resistant organisms (MROs) in rehabilitation units.
The Bariatric Rehabilitation Working Party will produce a position statement on the emerging area of Bariatric Rehabilitation and the role of Rehabilitation Medicine Physicians in this area of practice.
Faculty Education Committee (FEC) Activities
An Advanced Training Forum will be held on 28 June 2019 to discuss the Advanced Training Curricula Renewal.
There has been an update to the CPD system at the College with a reduction to three simplified categories, with an increased emphasis on review of outcomes and clinical processes.
AFRM Trainee Committee Activities
Planning for Annual Trainee Meeting 2020 will commence in August. The sub-committee will explore other dates from the traditional beginning of the calendar year and the 2020 agenda will offer concurrent session between Adult and Paediatric Medicine.
The Faculty Training Committee with assistance from AFRM Trainee Committee are developing a Trainee Welcome Pack which will include helpful resources for new trainees in Rehabilitation Medicine. The development is currently underway with a goal to implement this for trainees commencing in 2020.
