Online Communities Project
Our College has commenced a project to develop an online community for Members as part of the Board Strategic Plan. The College online communities project will contain specific Member-led communities of practice and aims to connect members with each other and allow members to create groups where they can learn, share and view information.
It is anticipated that a pilot for Online Communities project will be conducted at the end of the year and members are encouraged to nominate themselves or their group if they wish to participate.

The resource will have a particular focus on preparation for trainees based in rural and remote settings and a working group has been established to assist in its development.
The resource is expected to be developed over the next 12 to 18 months and will cover study guidance and resources including short and long case clinical examination examples as well as support networks and wellbeing.
The Committee agreed to change the delivery of its annual Trainees’ Day linked to Congress with a move to holding smaller sessions across the regions and New Zealand organised by the respective Trainees’ Committees that can be shared to the wider trainee cohort. Members were encouraged to organise their local educational and professional development events with the intent of making them available online via zoom or recordings for other trainees to access. It was agreed that New Zealand was still to hold their annual Trainees’ Day and that other regions that wanted to hold their own annual Trainees’ Day were allowed to do so.
