Paediatric Research Committee 2018 End-of-Year Communiqué

Key activities

  • The PRC have finalised the Paediatric Academic Pathways document; this document outlines the possible avenues a Fellow can take in research. Go to Paediatric Resources.
  • The PRC provided input to the development of the PCHD Council Activity Plan for 2018-2010.
  • The PRC are continuing to collaborate with the PCHD Policy & Advocacy Committee and PCHD Education Committee to improve processes for developing position statements and to engage with trainees.
  • The PRC is providing input to a proposed session on paediatric research and academic careers at the RACP Congress 2019 to be held in Auckland, 6 to 8 May 2019. This session will provide an opportunity to formally promote the Paediatric Academic Pathways document which was finalised in October 2018.

PCHD awards

  • Nominations for the Howard Williams Medal closed in August 2018 and after deliberations by the PCHD Executive, we are pleased to advise that the Howard Williams Medal orator for 2019 will be Professor Lex Doyle. Professor Doyle will give his oration at RACP Congress in Auckland on Monday, 6 May 2019.
