AFRM Module 2 Clinical Assessment

The AFRM Module 2 Clinical Assessment tests the clinical knowledge and skills expected of a rehabilitation medicine Advanced Trainee in the first 2 years of training. Depending on the station, you must perform a competent clinical examination, and, or analyse and interpret findings to manage patient outcomes.

Assessment changes

From 2025, the AFRM Module 2 Clinical Assessment will be modified and renamed the AFRM Entry Phase Examination.

This assessment will test the clinical knowledge and skills expected of a rehabilitation medicine Advanced Trainee in the first year of training.

More information on assessments will be provided at least 1 year in advance of any changes.

Note: the College follows an alternating day rule for clinical examinations rotating each year between Saturday and Sunday.

Contingency plans 

Plan A | The AFRM Module 2 Clinical Assessment will proceed as scheduled on Saturday, 24 August 2024.

The exam will occur in a face-to-face format of a single day in an east coast Australian capital city. Trainees from across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand attend one exam site at an allocated time during the scheduled exam day.

Plan B | If the exam cannot be delivered as planned on Saturday, 24 August 2024 due to unforeseen circumstances, the exam will be postponed and will proceed minimum 3 months later for all candidates.
