The primary role and purpose of the Chief Medical Officer is to fully support the delivery of quality and compliant clinical care by our medical practitioners by providing guidance and creating protocols and processes for our medical practitioners (who all work remotely and access our patients through the Doctors on Demand, CDA Clinic, and Cannadoc Virtual care platforms).

Key Accountabilities / Tasks

  • A highly strategic position, responsible for leading and implementing the clinical direction of Vitura Health.
  • Advising on the process for recruitment, contracting, and onboarding of doctors.
  • Reviewing and advising on the development, maintenance, and modifications of training content for our doctors.
  • Provide recommendations on clinical training for telehealth to improve the quality of virtual care.
  • Review Doctors on Demand’s clinical quality metrics to ensure we are delivering the highest quality service.
  • Chair and support the Clinical Advisory Group in the implementation of Doctors on Demand’s Clinical Governance Framework.
  • Review and advise on all clinical processes, including practice management system, radiology and pathology requests, results management, and prescribing processes and trends.
  • Design and oversee clinical audit processes and allocate resources to areas of highest risk for Doctors on Demand.
  • As required, assist in the resolution of clinical incidents and complaints.
  • Assist in the development and execution of a formal performance management approach for doctors and in providing timely feedback to doctors to help drive clinical improvements.
  • Provide engagement with doctors on both a group and individual basis, including through Quarterly Doctor Webinars.
  • Represent Doctors on Demand as a telehealth clinical expert in the public domain.

Personal Attributes

  • Interest in telehealth and digital platforms to be able to provide efficient and effective care remotely.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse (and remote) medical workforce.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing and implementing clinical policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and drive change.
  • Interested to be part of the Medical Cannabis Industry.

Other Requirements

  • Australian working rights for at least 3 years.
  • Clean criminal record – National Police Check requirement.

Essential qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in General Practice.
  • Professional qualification and registration with AHPRA and FRACGP/FACRRM.
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior medical leadership role with a focus on clinical governance, clinical risk assessment, and quality improvement.
  • Eligible for a Medicare Provider Number.
  • Previous experience in the provision of telehealth clinical care.
  • Experience in a strategic, leadership, or clinical governance role.
  • Tech-savvy with advanced computer processing skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
