The Launceston General Hospital is seeking two enthusiastic Paediatric Registrars to join our team for 2024! With the implementation of the new EBA providing competitive wages and paid education time, there is no better time to work in Tasmania.

These positions will centre around a brand new and exciting Paediatric short stay unit; as well as rotating shifts covering the new 34 bed General Paediatric ward, 12 bed Level 2 neonatal nursery and Paediatric outpatients. The unit is staffed 24 hours a day by registrars and HMO staff, with consultant oversight on site during working hours, and on call overnight. The current staffing is 8 registrars/ HMO, a Senior Registrar and 7 paediatric consultants.

The unit has an active education program and is accredited by the RACP for Advanced Training for General Paediatrics with a Perinatal Component, Community/ Developmental Paediatrics and rural rotations. We are also a secondment site for basic trainees from the Royal Hobart Hospital, and if you are early in your career, this position will be a good springboard to entering the training program in 2025. You will work as a day worker, but after hours work and weekend rotations will be required as rostered.

Essential qualifications

• General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
• Enrolled in the relevant speciality training program
• Current Working with Children Registration
