Register with Altus Assessments and book your assessment date and time

Altus Assessments has developed and will be hosting the online the assessment for the College. You will need to register with Altus and reserve your assessment date and time via their website. No payment is required to sit Casper in 2022.

All you need to register is your email address and a piece of government issued ID.

Once you have registered you will be directed to the assessment date and time booking page.

Important

To account for identity verification, ensure that you register for your assessment at least three days before your preferred date and time. Last-minute bookings are not recommended as it is important for applicant’s equipment to meet the System Requirements Check available in their Altus Suite Account.

Three

Once you have registered, ensure you have the following items and equipment

When it’s time to complete the assessment, you will need the following resources. You will be responsible for securing access to a laptop or desktop computer with webcam and audio capabilities and a reliable internet connection with an internet speed of at least 1.5 Mbps and upload speed of at least 2 Mbps. You will require the following for both account creation and completing Altus Suite:

  • Government-issued photo ID (English/French) for account validation
  • Valid email address (the same one you will use to submit your application)
  • Desktop or laptop computer
  • Access to both Chrome and Firefox web browsers
  • Working webcam
  • Working microphone
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection
  • A quiet, comfortable place away from others or distractions. We recommend you sit the test in a quiet room in a private home. We do not recommend sitting the test in a healthcare setting as internet firewalls may create problems with page refresh or other access problems.

Four

Submit any requests for required accommodations to complete Casper

Casper accommodation requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis to ensure equal opportunity for all. To apply for accommodations, please complete and submit the following to support@altus.as (or you may request a link to upload your documents to a secure encrypted folder directly):

You will need to submit all forms and supporting documents 3 weeks before your scheduled Casper test to allow sufficient time for document review and a decision on the appropriate accommodation.

The types of accommodations that we offer include, but are not limited to:

  • Extended time
  • Assistive software (e.g., speech-to-text and text-to-voice)
  • Assistive personnel (e.g., scribe and/or reader)

If you believe you need an accommodation measure not listed above, this must be specified by the qualified professional completing part 2 of the Accommodations Request Form. You must include the rationale for each recommended accommodation measure.

Review the Altus Assessments Accommodations Policy for a more detailed outline of the accommodation process

We strongly urge you to take advantage of the 12-section practice assessment, which will immerse you in the assessment environment and ensure you meet the technical requirements to access and complete the assessment.
