Would you like to become part of a team of healthcare professionals that uses our knowledge and expertise to help improve the health and wellbeing of migrant, refugee and asylum seeker communities? If so, we invite you to volunteer with The Water Well Project.

The Water Well Project is a not-for-profit organisation that works alongside migrant, refugee and asylum seeker communities to improve health literacy through free, interactive health education sessions. What would you be doing as a volunteer?

As a volunteer, you can sign up to help facilitate health education sessions on a range of different health topics with diverse community groups across Melbourne, Sydney and Tasmania.

The topics for our sessions are driven by community needs – some of our most popular topics include:

  • Navigating the Australian Healthcare System
  • Women's Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing and many more.

Our volunteers are well-supported, and are provided access to resources to assist in the preparation and facilitation of sessions.

If you are interested or want to learn more before making a decision, we will be running the following session:

  • 4 May 2024 – Sydney induction 10am – 1pm (9:30am registration) at UNSW Kensington Induction is a necessary first step to becoming a volunteer with us and will provide you with in-depth information about who we are, how we operate, and what your role as a volunteer will entail.
