Description
The Consultant General Paediatrician will provide comprehensive whānau centred care to inpatient and outpatients in the general paediatric.
The successful candidate is required to provide and supervise the care and management of acute and non-acute patients allocated to him/her within a multidisciplinary team environment. This will be conducted in accordance with the policies and guidelines of Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley District.
The Consultant General Paediatrician will support, lead and supervise junior medical staff within the service and are required to work collaboratively with team members to provide services in assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients referred.
Essential qualifications
- Vocationally registered in Paediatrics with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- FRACP or equivalent qualification and be able to register for with the MCNZ
- Work effectively in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
- Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care
- Relevant experience and training in general paediatric and neonatal care
- Developmental paediatric skills and experience desired
