Description

Bunbury Health Campus is accredited for Basic Training (12 months) with RACP and for Advanced Trainees (12 months) and has an active education program. The unit has 3 consultant geriatricians with subspecialty interests. There is close collaboration with other medical specialties to provide clinical advice and support when required. 2 service registrars (including this post) and 2 RMOs. The rest of the multidisciplinary team consists of the nursing staff, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, continence nurse specialist, dietitian, speech and language therapist, clinical psychologist, pharmacist, social worker, and a welfare officer.

Responsibilities include

  • supervising the RMOs, reviewing new admissions and arranging appropriate investigations and assisting or performing medical procedures as required;
  • attending to admitted patients in order of medical urgency;
  • managing medical conditions according to high clinical standards under supervision of consultants;
  • collaborating with other health care providers medical, nursing, allied health and non-clinical team members to facilitate effective and efficient patient management and ensure there is timely and cordial communication with family, outside medical practitioners, and community services to achieve excellent patient management.

Salary range: $152,757 to $203,909 including base salary, professional development allowance and 12% superannuation. 

Essential qualifications

  • The successful applicants will need to have a minimum of 6 months experience in General Medicine/Geriatrics from Australia or equivalent.
  • Candidates must be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
