Description
This position offers an opportunity to consolidate surgical anatomy knowledge as a foundation for developing gynaecological surgical expertise, with a focus on holistic, patient-centred care delivered within a culturally safe service. Key aspects of the role include developing perioperative acumen, gaining exposure to oncological management, and engaging in multidisciplinary collaboration.
There is also scope to continue developing and maintaining general obstetrics and gynaecology skills through participation in the general roster, including after-hours work. A significant component of the role involves managing pre-invasive disease, including coordination of the Discordant Cytology meeting. Identification and development of a research project is encouraged.
This position would suit a Registrar considering a career in gynaecological oncology or seeking to strengthen their surgical skills in preparation for a career as a Regional Specialist or in a lower-resource setting.
Essential qualifications
- Eligible for general registration with the Medical Board of Australia Year 4 – 6 FRANZCOG trainee or international equivalent
