Description
- Conduct regular inpatient ward rounds and outpatient sessions, including teaching.
- Provide specialist opinions to referring medical practitioners.
- Participate in providing specialist outreach services to Regional Hospitals and remote communities.
- Offer care and advice on managing patients with oncological conditions to colleagues within and outside the specialty, especially in geographically isolated NT centers.
- Provide after-hours consultancy services to colleagues and junior medical staff.
- Direct, coordinate, supervise, and manage subordinate medical staff in patient care provision.
- Engage in continuous medical education, including teaching, professional development, research, quality improvement, and clinical audits.
Remuneration:
- Staff Specialist Clinician SMO1.1 – SMO1.6
- Remuneration Package: $233,403 - $285,246
- Salary: $201,131 - $246,112 + superannuation, leave loading, and 2 weeks extra recreation leave
- Senior Staff Specialist Clinician SMO2.1 – SMO2.3
- Remuneration Package: $294,950 - $326,099
- Salary: $254,532 - $281,558 + superannuation, leave loading, and 2 weeks extra recreation leave
Duration: Fixed vacancy for 12 months
Essential qualifications
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Current Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or eligibility for Fellowship.
- Sound clinical knowledge in assessment and management of patients and a commitment to provide appropriate high quality service.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to interact positively in a cross-cultural work environment.
- An interest in and a commitment to improving Indigenous health.
