- Salary - Total Indicative Remuneration - Classification - MDP2 - Medical Practitioner - $105,751 to $171,579 p.a (includes award salary, superannuation and any other monetary benefits)
- Full time - Term Contract
As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12-month allocation to Fellow Paediatric Emergency Department will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.
About the opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Fellow Paediatric Emergency Medicine where you'll be responsible for:
- Managing the care of all emergency presentations and Extended Care Unit inpatients, including the coordination of investigations, supervision of RMOs and Registrars, discussion with patients / families, liaison with statutory authorities and patient discharge
- Participating in the Department’s teaching and continuing education program both as a learner and educator
- Participating in after hours on call roster with consultant back up.
- Participating in Departmental research and quality improvement projects.
Essential qualifications
- Bachelor of Medicine
- Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) or equivalent,
- Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner • Advanced Paediatric Trainee status with RACP and/or ACEM Stage 3 or 4
- Ability to work as an effective team member in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other staff
- Ability to work under stressful conditions and/or high workloads
- Problem solving and decision-making skills (both clinical and individual)
